I started writing at 12, but my interest in horses took over. Writing never let me go, however, and I dabbled in poetry, short fiction, screenplay, and essay. Now, I'm combining writing with another hobby: graveyards and the stories they tell.
I'm fond of sitting in graveyards relaxing among the dead, collecting with my senses what wants to be shared. There are some there who still want to be heard. Those who have lived and gone on have stories to tell, some unfinished. I cherish the idea of them. Beneath the gravestone names and dates, lie cast-off vestments of physical life, testaments to spirits inhabiting personalities that once lived and toiled upon the earth. I want to cull the remnants and fragments of their thrilling stories. I want to hear what they want to share. I want to write the unwritten.
I'd rather have a house full of libraries than bedrooms. And I'll take a book over a box of chocolates any day. Twice on Sundays.
Anything exciting going on?
Look at me, Ma! No bridle, no saddle, no rider.
What's for supper?
